fat isn’t an insult skinny isn’t a compliment they’re just words describing body types please drill that in your heads
The words may be just words but when spoken to someone and the way they’re spoken to someone can ruin a persons day. Calling someone fat or skinny implies that their bodies aren’t normal. And not in a good way.
Time and time again I’ve been called “too skinny” or “anorexic”.. Never fat, but I can only imagine what that must feel like. What gives anyone the right to comment on another persons body type?
Do you really think that calling someone fat and calling someone pretty will have the same affect, which in your words would be no affect? Have you never been called pretty and had it make you smile? Now do you think someone would smile if you were to call them fat?
NO. Words have meaning. Words cause reactions.
Anyone who says words are just words is being oblivious to the fact that words carry meaning and those meanings can be negative or positive.
"Fuck" is just a word but it’s never used in professional/formal environments or in front of kids because it’s offensive an demeaning. It’s not "just a word" and neither is "fat" or "skinny" or "ugly" or "pretty".
Instead of trying to desensitize everyone so you can go about calling people whatever you want like the full grown bully you are, how about you just learn when it’s not your place to speak.
